Kursübersicht "Introduction into International Entrepreneurship"

Objectives

This course addresses the issues specific to international Entrepreneurship including search and identification of opportunities in foreign markets, cross-cultural business communication, international deal-making and networking.

Contents

International entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship opportunities deals with the general aspects of being a global entrepreneur and indentifying global opportunities. The specific issues covered include the importance of international entrepreneurship, globalization and the international environment, the impact of a culture, the global entrepreneur and his or her venture, and the importance and aspects of the global business. We will discuss global market, and the market in context of Georgia this is of course very important, because without a successful global market selection and entry, obtaining sales and revenues from the global effort becomes very difficult. The specific areas that we will consider will include the global monetary system, global marketing and research and development, global human resource management, and implementing a global strategy and managing the global venture.

Prerequisites

Formal: Full-time student of Business Administration (BA Program) in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences (WISO) OR exchange student with approved learning agreement.

Academic: This course does not build up on any other courses offered on campus. It is therefore suitable for first-semester students. As the language of instruction and assessment will be English, students need to be fluent in English - both in terms of oral and written communication.

Assessment

Grades will be based on a mid-term exam worth 40 points and a final exam (or written essay and/or presentation) worth 60 points, for a total of 100. Exams will be based on the material covered in class. The instructor reserves the right to make changes to this syllabus, as appropriate.

Bewertung

Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von ECTS-Punkten ist das Bestehen der Prüfungsleistung für das Gesamtmodul. Die Prüfungsleistung für diese Kurseinheit geht zu einem Viertel (für AL13.1) bzw. zur Hälfte (für AL13.2) in die Prüfungsleistung für das Gesamtmodul ein.
