Objectives

This course will explore how identity and difference (race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, and age) impact women’s historical and contemporary USA work experiences. Special topics such as the increased awareness and high profile cases of sexual harassment in the workplace, and other issues of women in the workplace will be studied.

Methods

The course will be delivered in lecture format with interactive teaching methods using discussions. Preparation for class will include reading required materials. The language of instruction is English.

Prerequisites

Formal: Full-time students in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.

Academic: Students must be able to function in an English-speaking environment.

Assessment

Grades will be based on a mid-term compare and contrast essay worth 40 points and a final exam worth 60 points, for a total of 100. Exam will be based on the material covered in class. The instructor reserves the right to make changes to this syllabus, as appropriate.

Bewertung

Die Prüfungsleistung ist erbracht und ECTS-Punkte werden zuerkannt, wenn die Prüfungsleistung zu der gewählten Kurseinheit des Gesamtmoduls bestanden worden ist. Die entsprechende Bewertung ergibt dann die Modulnote.
